Hello, hello! I am so excited about today's outfit inspiration due to its amazing versatility. If you are from a small town, but absolutely love the city (or vice versa), then you should definitely keep reading. As human beings, time is of the essence in everything that we do, so being able to get cute and ready when rushed is great. This template is the perfect example of how packing a few extra accessories can get you from your early morning city life to your late night country life.
- To start off, grab your favorite pair of skinny jeans, the ripped up ones preferably, or the ripped up boot-cut ones(whichever you prefer) and lay it out on your bed or floor.
- Now, grab the shirt that everybody compliments you on(i.e.-it brings out your eyes, compliments your hair, etc.). If you have one that does this and looks similar to the one in the template-USE IT! If not, that's ok. Lay it on top of the jeans.
- Next grab your boots and a pair of sandals or flats, depending on the weather, and set one pair on either side of the shirt and jeans.
- Time to accessorize!
- Start off with the country look. For this look you want neutral tones and more vintage-vibed jewelry(silver will work if you don't have any other colors). As for the purse, grab one that matches the tones of your boots-this will bring the look together.
- Switch over to the city look now. For this look you want the silver, bright, bulky jewelry to wear(again, if you don't have that, that's ok just get something that matches). Instead of matching the purse with the shoes, you want to match the purse with the necklace or other jewelry you are wearing-that pulls this outfit together.
- You are done!
You have just finished creating two totally diffferent looks in a matter of ten minutes or less! Here are a few bits of advice if you are still having troubles picking out certain parts:
- The jeans: if they aren't ripped up-don't worry! Not all city/country people like the ripped look. You can always go with another pair of your favorite jeans.
- The shirt: if you don't have that "one shirt" that you always get complimented on, then go with a shirt that you feel comfortable in. This is about making yourself feel pretty and good, not making you feel ugly.
- The accessories: have fun with them! if your jewelry selection is limited, wear something that goes with both looks! You don't have to change everything about the accessories to get the look. The accessories used in the template could easily be worn with either outfit. Also, notice I didn't put any earrings with either outfit. When doing accessories, if you wear a necklace, either wear a ring OR earrings, but not both. Wearing both along with the necklace is too much "noise" and takes away from the entirety of the outfit.
- The shoes: This is truly the only thing you have to change in order to switch looks completely. Get the city look by rolling up the jeans and wearing the flats or sandals, then roll them back down to tuck into your boots for the country look.
Keep on thrifting!
Your Fashionista,
Justina
